The Savings Idea Hub

The MRO category can provide a mountain of savings opportunities if you look in the right places. What works for your organisation will be unique and will depend on aspects such as the type of industry, scale, the maturity of the cost control journey, resources, culture and organisational priorities.

Further to this, organisations have different definitions of how savings are defined and what can be counted. Often this split is between cost savings (a.k.a hard savings) and cost avoidance (a.k.a soft savings), with huge opportunities being missed in the "cost avoidance area". Nevertheless, these soft cost savings can have a real impact on the long-term bottom line of the organisation so these should still be implemented, recorded and shared.

These will be a mix of "hard", "soft" and cash flow savings with different time horizons to implement, starting with general MRO opportunities and then diving into some sub-category specific opportunities.
